Positano

In the characteristic town of Positano, the most famous and fashionable town on the Amalfi Coast, destination for VIPs and celebrities from all over the world, we will drive through the streets that are so narrow that they allow only the passing of vehicles in one direction. This will lead us through a scenic road, lined with shops selling local arts and crafts, restaurants and trendy bars, and lead up to the main square. From here, you can just keep walking through stairways and alleys that will take you to the beautiful beach of Positano. During our walk, lemon trees, bougainville and jasmine will dazzle your senses with scents and colours of the Amalfi coast and there will be plenty of time for shopping and buying the famous leather sandals and linen clothing of ‘Positano beach fashion’ and to visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, located right at the beach front, whose dome appears in many images of the coastal town of Positano.

Praiano

The Amalfi Coast tour
continues to Praiano, an ancient fishing village which has become a popular tourist centre for lovers of quality tourism. With a visit to the churches, you can admire the splendid masterpieces of sacred art of the coast and enjoy a sense of relaxation. All the churches are infact in exceptional locations. We will visit the Church of San Gennaro, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Positano pyramid, St Luke's Church, which is located in the higher part of the coastal town and from where you can enjoy the spectacle of the Bay of Capri and finally, the Chapel of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, suspended between land and sea on the cape between Praiano and Vettica Maggiore.

Along the way, we will find magical nativity scenes set into the rocks to be admired for their peculiarity, typical of Mediterranean architecture and culture and we will stop briefly at Marina di Praia, a small and picturesque pebble beach, set in a high cliff where on one side stands the Torre a Mare, a Saracen watchtower. Here lies one of the most romantic walks along the Amalfi coast that goes around the cliff below the tower.

Fiordo di Furore

We continue the Amalfi coast tour with a compulsory stop at the Fiordo di Furore, one of the most fascinating places of the coast, an old fishing village, now abandoned and turned into a museum.

The beach is accessible by a staircase, only 25 metres wide but mainly deep and it is wedged between two high rocky walls. It is visited by thousands each year for photo shoots and photo sets for its colours and uniqueness. Every year in July, a spectacular international diving competition is held here.

Conca dei Marini and the Emerald Grotto

After a few more bends, the landscape opens onto Conca dei Marini, a beautiful village where you will find the symbol of the Amalfi coast: the Emerald Grotto.

The grotto, easily reachable by lift, is definitely worth a visit. You can explore the cave, of karstic origin, by boat and it owes its name to the gorgeous emerald hues that are due to the sunlight filter through a crack in the rock. Numerous stalactites and stalagmites come together in some parts to form columns and at the bottom of the grotto, there is an underwater nativity scene that was set up in 1956.

Amalfi

The divine Amalfi
, the capital of the coast, is a fundamental stop of the Amalfi coast tour. Here you can see the town that stands proud and majestic with centuries of history that has made it one of the most powerful towns in the Mediterranean, one of the four maritime Republics together with Genoa, Venice and Pisa.

Many legacies of that era are still present in the city and every four years, a regatta of the Republics is held, during which four crews representing each of the Republics compete amongst themselves. This race is preceded by a fantastic historical procession in period costumes.

In Amalfi, we will stop briefly to visit the square with its lavish dome and the Fountain of Saint Andrew, the patron saint of the town. We will allow ourselves to be carried away by the magic of the alleys of Amalfi and the colours and the pecularity of the many handicraft shops. We will continue our tour with a visit to the Paper Museum, located in the valley of the mills, where you can witness the creation of a sheet of paper. A compulsory stop is to taste a lemon sorbet, the fruit symbol of Amalfi, in one of the most famous bars in Amalfi.

Ravello

Your private Amalfi coast tour will end in Ravello. In this little town, a Unesco heritage, the cathedral, dating back to the 9th century, is one of the oldest in Italy. Ravello is renowned worldwide for its historic residences: Villa Rufolo, in Moorish style from the 13th century, is surrounded by beautiful terraced gardens overlooking the Gulf, which annually hosts outdoor concerts and is home to the Ravello Festival, a famous music festival, while Villa Cimbrone is in medieval style, and through its gardens leads to the ‘Infinity terrace’, a very famous panoramic viewpoint where you can enjoy a wonderful and unforgettable view! You will have the possibility to lunch in a very characteristic restaurant in Ravello.
