Pompeii is one of the world's most famous and best preserved archaeological sites, Unesco World Heritage, and an estimated 3 million tourists visit it each year. The ancient Roman city was buried under a layer of ash and lava due to a terrible eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD and this catastrophic event crystallized everything and every event that was taking place in the city at that fateful moment. Everything remained still at that time, and a tour of Pompeii is like a journey through time.
For this archaeological tour of Pompeii, you can request to be accompanied by a licensed guide, that our driver will recommend, who will explain in detail each part of the ancient city. The entrance ticket costs €15 and you can buy it with a credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or debit card. Pompeii, un unforgettable tour
In the ruins of Pompeii, the visit that begins from Porta Marina and continues on the street of the same name, will lead to the discovery of the Foro, the beating heart of Pompei, the political, economic and religious centre of the city, the Basilica, the house of the Fontana Piccola and the Casa dei Vettii, one of the greatest examples of Roman art from the 1st century, named after the owners, Aulo Vettio Restituto and Aulo Vettio Conviva who were wine merchants in Pompeii. You will visit the stabian baths and the via dell'abbondanza where ‘workshops’ and ‘taberne’ (shops with or without stock), ‘termopolia’ (similar to modern eateries) and ‘lupanare’ shops dedicated to sexual pleasure with payment from the Pompeii citizens, which were the brothels.
From the Foro, you can easily reach the Villa dei Misteri, a Roman patrician house where the murals of the famous Pompeian red have been preserved perfectly, the Roman amphitheatre, the Casa del Fauno, which owes its name to a bronze statue, depicting a satyr and the Casa degli Amorini Dorati.
After the visit of about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to the ruins of Pompeii, our Pompeii archaeological tour ends with the return at the same place where you were picked up.
